Alice Marie Brown

Alice Marie Cooper Brown, born Wednesday, August 14, 1940, died peacefully in her sleep at her home on Monday, August 26, 2024. As she took her last breath in this world, she opened her eyes immediately in the next, with praises of joy and thanksgiving, her body whole again, and her suffering ended. She is again with her parents, Cyrus and Juanita, her sisters, Mary and Ann, her brothers, Roy, Mac, and Bill, and her son, Mick. She leaves behind those who love her; her sisters, Sue and Ruby; sons, Edwin, Jerry, and Guy; daughters, Patty and Chrissy; her nephew/best friend Jason; her grandchildren, Abby, Willow, Rusty, Xaden and Xyler; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

When people talk of Alice, many say 'she's the toughest person I know.' In her younger days, Alice enjoyed sticking up for the little person, and was not afraid to speak up for herself and others if there was an injustice. Alice meant a multitude of things to a multitude of people. With her no nonsense approach, she could tell you about yourself and you just took it. Her sayings were to the point- when life gets tough, "you've got to roll with the blows," "such is called life" and her version of radical acceptance, "you can't do something about something you can't do nothing about."

She worked hard her whole life- holding down multiple jobs at once to provide for her family. Known for her cooking- with a brief stint of restaurant ownership with Alice's Square Meals at the town square in Magnolia, Ohio- she was an ace in the kitchen, best of all her own.

Everyone knew with Alice that they had place to stay and food to eat.
