Arthur Dale Rankl, age 91 of Massillon, Ohio passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 14th, 2024 in Massillon, Ohio. Son of Vincent and Bessie Rankl, Arthur (Bud) was born and raised in Massillon. He dutifully served four years during the Korean War in the Armed Forces after graduating from Washington High school. Art was a proud Massillon Tiger fan, retiring at age 63, from the Campbell Oil Company as a maintenance technician for 35 years. He was also a machinist for Tyson and Goodyear.
Preceded in death by siblings, Robert Rankl and Linda Fowler and devoted wife of 64 years, Virginia (Wise).
Art is survived by his children: Ray (Karen) Rankl of Sarasota, Florida, Connie (Tim ) Garber of Massillon, Ohio, Pennie (Shawn) Baltzer of Beach City, Ohio; five grandchildren, Erica (Steve) Gatrell, Christi (Marie) Rankl, Scott (Katie) Garber, Ryan (Stacy) Garber and Seth Baltzer; as well as six great-grandchildren.
Arthur was the rock of the family and was also a huge jokester who made fast friends with practically everyone he met with that ornery grin and gleam in his bright blue eyes. A devoted father and grandfather, he could fix just about anything while offering a helping hand to anyone in need - which was often! Art also loved the outdoors and was known to ski barefoot while camping with family and friends over many years. Only a few weeks prior to his passing, Art still enjoyed meeting up with high school buddies for monthly reunions. He was often heard thanking the good Lord for all the blessings he’d been given throughout his long life. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and all who’ve had the great pleasure of knowing him!
