August A. “Butch” Samblanet

August A. “Butch” Samblanet, age 78, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather, passed away peacefully in his sleep on his cherished farm, while surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, August 1, 2021.   He fought an extended battle against several illnesses. Butch was born September 21, 1942, in Canton, the son of the late Howard and Isabel (Fladung) Samblanet. He was a retired janitor, bus driver, carpenter and farmer.

In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Snyder) of 41 years.

Butch leaves behind siblings, Kay (Donald) Davis of Alliance, Sr. (Cheryl) Samblanet of Villa Maria, PA, Tom (Brenda) Samblanet of Homeworth, Bonnie Phillips of Louisville, Patty (Floyd) Romick of Louisville, Ed (Loretta) Samblanet of Vermilion; numerous stepchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Special care was given by granddaughter, Kelly Hardman; great-granddaughter, Jessica Gieisnger; nephew, Nate Samblanet; and long-term RN, Brittany Bennett.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021, 11 a.m. at Holy Family Parish St. Therese Church in Brewster.  A private burial will take place at a future date.  Memorial contributions can be made monetarily or through blood donations at
