Barb (Serva) Meyer age 61 of Akron passed away peacefully after a brief battle of cancer. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Everyone enjoyed her cooking that she loved so much. She enjoyed working at Calvary Open Bible Church food pantry.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Marilyn Serva, brothers, John and Andy Serva, father-in-law, Cylde Hanshaw, and brother-in-laws, Jesse Woodward and Bob Phillips.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Hanshaw; daughter, Lisa (Joe) Gruttola; son, Mathrew (Nicole) Meyer; grandchildren, Jake and Gianna and granddog, Hank; brother, Steve (Jerry) Serva; sisters, Rebecca Phillips, Teri (Chuck) Dick and Sue (Tracy) Vaughn; mother-in-law, Drema (Earl) Mitchell; sister-in-law, Robin Hanshaw; brother-in-law Curt (Joanna) Hanshaw and many nieces and nephews and friends too numerous to mention.
The family would like to thank the Barberton Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the compassionate care of her and the family. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service will take place later at the convenience of the family. Condolences and special memories may be shared online at
