Betty Lou (Levengood) Miller, 86, of Hennis Care Center in Dover died Sunday, January 12, 2025 following a brief illness. Betty Lou was born June 5, 1938 to Walter R. and Edith F. (Rowe) Levengood. She was born in Coshocton County on a 12-acre farm near New Bedford. She loved to travel, but she always loved coming home to her house on the Tuscarawas River. She was always cheerful and smiling with a wonderful sense of humor that drew people to her. Nowhere was this more apparent but when she took care of older people, first working in nursing homes then taking care of others in her home.
One of the most important days of her life was June 19, 1968 when she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She attended the New Philadelphia South congregation and took great joy in preaching and teaching others about Jehovah’s promises for us as recorded in the Bible. Her favorite book was “Jesus: The Way, the Truth the Life,” an account of Jesus’ life and ministry, which she read over and over again. She faithfully served her God Jehovah for 56 years.
Betty Lou is survived by one brother, Jerry Levengood of New Philadelphia; two sons, Rick (Ruth Ann) Miller of Dennison and Chance Miller of New Philadelphia; a grandson, Jason (Stacy) Miller of New Philadelphia; a great-grandson, Lucius Miller; and a greatgranddaughter, McKenzie Miller.
She was preceded in death by brothers Raymond, Walter F., and Russell Levengood, sisters, Pauline Welling, Caroline Brown, Nona Domer, Ann Wilson, and Ruth Schupbach, and her son, Tulsa Miller.
