Carl Edward Barlow

Carl Edward Barlow age 89, of Carrollton passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio on November 3, 2020, a victim of COVID-19.  He was born on November 30, 1930 to the late George Edgar and Anna Belle (Smith) Barlow in Harlem Springs, Ohio.  On September 4, 1954, Carl Married Ruthie Joe (Jinx) Tomazin. He served in the Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1953. Carl was employed by the Timken Company for 30 years and retired as a supervisor in 1985. He was a member of Carroll Lodge #124 FAM for 57 years, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton for 57 years, member of Tadmor Shrine for 50 years and a former member of the Royal Order of Jesters. He was a member of Eastern Star #315, Kiwanis Club, and a board member of MRDD. Carl and Ruthie spent most of their retirement years traveling in their motorhome. He spent the first 5 years traveling in the Western States and the rest of his retirement was spent in the Southern States and Florida. He spent his summers at home in Carrollton, taking care of his home and property.  He was a very kind and loving man with a quick smile and teasing manner.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a brother, Franklin W. Barlow.

He is survived by a special sister-in-law, Elyzabeth (Jean Tomazin) DeGiovanni; special niece, Valerie (Steve); godson, Dustin; nieces and nephews, Bob, Frank, Barry, Scott, Patty, Ronnie, Donnie, Roy, Rick, Roger, Patrick, Dana, Marsha, Tracie, David, Cass, Bonnie, Brenda, George-Keith, Debbie and Charlene; and a special friends Kathy Saunier and Christian Mann.  A special thank you to the wonderful team members from Mercy Medical Home Health Center for their loving care.
