Charles Louis Weekley, Jr. age 75, died Thursday morning September 13, 2018, after battling a long illness.
Charles was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Charles and Catherine (Altmeyer) Weekley. He married his wife, Barbara (Jackson) on November 5, 1976 and at the time of his death resided in his Sheffield Lake home he shared with her.
In 1963 Charles was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. By the time he retired he had made a career of 40+ years as an Over-the-Road Semi Truck Driver. He received many awards for his impeccable driving record and excellent work ethic.
Charles enjoyed lots of music genres, but was particularly fond of music from his 1950’s era. When home from the road, he enjoyed tinkering in his garage and gardening. He also became quite proficient in the creation of custom designed walking sticks during the last years of his life. His legacy is and always will be his family whom he loved greatly.
Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara; three children Jason (Jennifer) from Sheffield Lake, Matthew (Amy) from River Forest, Illinois and Nathan from Avon, Ohio; three grandchildren, Ayla, Claire and Zachary: and his older brother to David (Deborah) Weekley from Hull, Mass. Beloved uncle and friend.
Memorial Service to be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church, 2265 Garden Drive, Avon, Ohio. Rev. David Woolsey officiating.
Visitation will be prior to Service held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 21 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church, 2265 Garden Drive, Avon, Ohio.
A Light Reception to be held on Friday, September 21 at 3:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church hall, 2265 Garden Drive, Avon, Ohio.
Private Interment at a later date.
