Charles Phillip "Chuck" Clark, a beloved husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather, passed away on March 29, 2024, in his hometown of Canton, Ohio. He was born on October 29, 1949, to parents John Bradford and Dorothy Clark. His upbringing was rooted in the Catholic faith which would become his lifelong support.
Chuck was the second to the youngest of six. His early years were shared with his siblings, nephews and niece. A bond was formed that lasted a lifetime filled with laughter and camaraderie.
He graduated Timken High School in 1968. He wed Sandra Hostetler on September 7, 1968. This union welcomed two children, Regina & Teresa. He then enlisted to serve in Vietnam. Upon returning from the war, he attended Kent State University. He later met and married his lifelong partner Martha Miley on September 11, 1975. This marriage expanded the family to include two sons, Joseph & Christopher.
Chuck was a devoted father, grandfather & great-grandfather. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family. One of his favorite pastimes was family road trips to see the natural beauty of the USA.
He was an unwavering fan of his home teams, the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. While living in Arizona for 10 years, he coached little league where he eventually became the President of the Gilbert Little League.
Chuck’s voracious thirst to learn often times led to teaching himself. This was especially true with engineering and programming. Sitting in his chair reading the newspaper front to back daily will be an everlasting image for his family. His lust for learning was passed onto his children & grandchildren.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Regina Scott, William Clark, Joseph Clark, Rose Gill and John Clark . His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family: his wife Martie; his children, Regina Beck(Steve), Teresa McRobie(Scott), Joe, and Chris; his grandchildren, Ricky, Kenneth (Vanessa), Steven, Jimmie, Samantha, Siarra, Nevaeh, Sofia & Amelia; and great-grandchildren Aleigha, Kennedy & Kataleya.
Charles Phillip Clark’s story is one of dedication, love, and an commitment to his family. He will be deeply missed, but the seeds he planted in the hearts of those who knew him will continue to grow and flourish for generations to come.
