Cheryl Ann Carpenter, 69, of Canton, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on January 8th, 2025. Born September 28th, 1955, in Milton, West Virginia, to the late Homer and Betty Chapman (Carper). She was a 1974 graduate of Canton South High School and later earned a degree in medical coding. She retired from Aultman Hospital after nearly 30 years of dedicated service. A longtime member of Canton South Church of the Nazarene until its closing, Cheryl carried her faith into her new church family, always finding joy in worship and fellowship.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Elizabeth Simpson (Phillip) and Catherine Elkins (Travis); her grandchildren, Arianna Carpenter, Aria Simpson, and Sophia and Rhett Elkins; and her brother, Michael Chapman (Cindy); and her beloved German Shepherd, Nala. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Bill Chapman.
Cheryl’s unwavering faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life, reflected in her radiant smile, kind words, and genuine care for everyone she met. She was a compassionate listener, a source of encouragement, and a friend to all, sharing the love of Christ through her actions. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of faith, joy, and kindness lives on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held February 15th, 2025, at Liberty Baptist Fellowship Hall, 2349 Southway St SW, Massillon, OH 44646, at 2 p.m., led by Howard Elkins. Condolences and special memories of Cheryl can be shared with her family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com
