Cheryl Laughlin

Cheryl Lee Laughlin, 70, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away April 26, 2023. Born November 15, 1952, she was preceded in death by her parents, John and Grace Ella Keppler and her mother and father in law, Jane and Cy Laughlin.

Cheryl was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who cherished her family deeply. She was a dedicated caregiver, employed in the home health field for many years. Among her many patients was a very special girl, Mary Lou Colvin, who survives thanks to Cheryl’s care.

Cheryl graduated from Dover High School in 1970 and she spent her life in service to others. She enjoyed managing The Coffee Shop in New Philadelphia where she loved serving the locals, encouraging coffee and conversation. She was also an avid bingo player and gaming enthusiast which she enjoyed much of with her best friend of more than twenty years, Ruthie (Kevin) Espenscheid. She also took great pride and interest over the years in a variety of crafts and needlework.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Duanne R. Laughlin, to whom she was married for 35 years, as well as by her children Melissa (Micah) Wissman, Tawnya (Rob) Baker, Victor Paris (companion Jennifer Raleigh), Stacy Laughlin (companion Peyton Ford), and Elizabeth (Sean) Lee, and by her brother-in-law, Steve Laughlin.

One of Cheryl’s greatest joys in life was being a Nana to Johanna Dillon, Micah Wissman, Cecilia Wissman, Charlie Baker, Rachel Lee, Fitzgerald Lee, Johanna Theetge, Isabella Theetge, Miles Theetge, Lila Theetge, and Jensen Raleigh.
