Christine M Kramer, a beloved sister, aunt, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, in Twinsburg, Ohio, at the age of 71 after a long illness.
Born on November 14, 1952, Chris was the daughter of the late Beatrice,(nee-Madden) and Glen Kramer Sr. She grew up in Boardman, Ohio, where she formed lasting bonds with her family and friends. Chris was a proud graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, class of 1971, where she enthusiastically played the cymbals in their marching band.
Throughout her life, Chris was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She was affectionately known as “Aunt Big Chris”. She leaves behind her youngest sister, Carolyn (George) Hawk, and her nieces and nephews: Christine “Lil Chris” (Jay) Vasko, Theresa Vasko, Marla (Scott) Caricom, Claire Hawk, John Vasko, Glen (Jennifer) Kramer III, Gavin Hawk, twelve great nieces and nephews, and two great great nieces.
Chris is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Beatrice and Glen Kramer Sr., her sister, Jeanne Vasko, her brother Glen Kramer Jr. and his wife Nadine, her nieces, Tracey (Bob) Sullivan, Leigh (Todd) Yallech, and Michael Vasko.
Fiercely committed to her nieces and nephews, Chris spent countless hours dedicated to their care and upbringing, and she treasured time with her family. She was an avid gardener who was most comfortable at home when she was tending to her flowers and plants, and she adored sharing her knowledge and offering gardening advice to others. Her beloved Mill Creek Park in Youngstown, Ohio was a favorite destination since her childhood, and she never passed up an opportunity to visit the rose garden at Fellows, walk the trails, or catch a glimpse of Lanterman’s Mill.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Beatitude House/Ursuline Sisters, a cause dear to Chris's heart. Donations can be made at https://www.ursulinesistersmission.org/donate/. Alternatively, donations can also be sent in Christine's name to Ursuline Sisters at 4280 Shields Rd, Canfield, OH 44406.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Southpointe Hospital, Grande Village, and Hospice of Western Reserve for their exceptional care and support during Chris’s final days.
And of course gratitude to her lifelong friends: Diane Spirnak and Mary Jo Burkell, cousin Eileen Burkell, neighbor Dee Ford, and devoted niece Theresa Vasko.
The Mass of Remembrance was live streamed/recorded and can be viewed at www.stdominicchurch.net.
Christine's memory will forever live in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace.
