Coleman Emil Kovac, age 76 of Canton, OH, passed away Monday May 6, 2019 at his home. He was born November 17, 1942 to the late Emil and Louise (Davis) Kovac. Cole was a 1961 graduate of Timken High School.
He was an Eagle scout recipient, Slovak Club trustee, 32nd degree Mason and a Canton and Sandy Valley Eagles Club member. Cole was a 38-year member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 33.
Cole is survived by the love of his life, Sandy Geiger; sisters, Ellie (John) Balbo and Jean (Jim) Gillilan; children, Eva (Bill) Foltz, Mary (Randy) Mallett, Mike (Vikki) Kovac and Mark (Lisa) Kovac; stepson, Danny (Angie) Geiger; grandchildren, Josh (Judy), Erin (Nicholas), Jillian (Javi), Megan (Joe), Cameron and Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren, Caden, Darek, Lucy, Elliott, Lilliana, and William, many nieces nephews, dear friends, and his five beloved feline furbabies.
Cole spent his retirement doing what he loved most…hunting, and fishing on his boat the “Beloved Shadow” on the waters of Lake Erie from Michigan to Pennsylvania.
Besides his parents, Cole was preceded in death by his brother, Eric Kovac; infant sister Mary Louise; stillborn son Matthew Scott and great-granddaughter, Kaycee Taylor Dworak.
Mass will be held at Little Flower Church 10 a.m. May 15, 2019 with Fr. Leo Wehrlin officiating. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Please leave condolences at https://www.heritagecremationsociety.com/.
