Cornelia Wallace Caldwell, born on September 27, 1923, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, at the age of 101 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. She was a cherished member of her community, known for her loving nature and devotion to family and friends.
Connie, as she was affectionately known, led a life marked by her passion for animals and service to others. She proudly served as a docent at the Cleveland Zoo and was a committed volunteer at Rescue Village, reflecting her deep love for animals, especially cats, which were a constant presence in her life. Her creative spirit was evident in her skilled knitting and embroidery, hobbies that brought joy to both her and those around her.
A proud alumna of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, Connie dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, a role she embraced wholeheartedly. Her family was the centerpiece of her life, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and caring that will be cherished by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Katharine Fedor and Allison Caldwell; grandchildren Nate, Gabe, and Nicholas Fedor; Adi Birnbaum; Evan, Ella, Susan, and Kira Tachovsky; and great-grandchildren Lucy, Grace, Trudy, and Miles Fedor. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, E. Davis Caldwell, daughter Anne Tachovsky, and son-in-law, David Fedor.
Memorial services will be held on November 9 at 11am at The Federated Church, 76 Bell Street, Chagrin Falls with lunch following. Those who knew Connie will remember her as a beacon of kindness and generosity, whose impact on her community will not be forgotten.
