Daniel Thomas Cole, born on January 3, 1950, in Gastonia, NC, passed away peacefully May 17, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones in his Olmsted Township home. He was 74 years old.
Dan was a devoted husband to Marcia Cole (Nee Hanna), his beloved wife of 53 years. Together, they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Dan was always the life of the party! He enjoyed spending evenings by the campfire, savoring a cold beer, and listening to some rock and roll. He was an avid football fan who rooted for The Ohio State University and The Cleveland Browns.
He found solace in nature, taking pride in nurturing his flowers and feeding the birds.
A skilled handyman, Dan was always ready to tackle any project with enthusiasm and precision. He dedicated 30 years of his life to the 707 Painters Union, retiring with a legacy of hard work and craftsmanship.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Ann Cole, their three children, Damion Daniel Cole, Jacob Thomas Cole, Rachael Ann Cole, and his older brother, William Cole (Mary Ann). Dan was a cherished “Papa” to his grandchildren Emma, Noah, Hanna, Sasha, Daniel, Ethan, and Isaac. He was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, who adored him as "Uncle Danny." He brought wisdom and joy to all their lives!
He is preceded in death by his mother, Alexa Cole, his older sister Kathryn “Becky” Hudson, and his younger brother Robert Cole. Though they have passed on, their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
In honor of Daniel, let us remember the Irish Blessing:
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sunshine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
