Danny Ray Dye

It’s with a heavy heart we are announcing the loss of our loved one, Danny Ray Dye AKA Duke, 62, of Akron, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 20, 2023 at Akron City Hospital.   Danny was born September 3, 1961 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to his late parents Bob and Novella (Hill) Dye. Danny went to Kenmore schools and graduated from Kenmore High School in 1981. 

Danny had a love and passion for race cars and driving. For many years Danny worked at Barberton Speedway and spent a lot of time with many of the drivers. He parked cars for the Speedway. When Danny wasn’t parking cars he was in the pits hanging out with the pit crews. He loved and looked forward to Friday and Saturday nights. Danny also worked at the Colosseum and Added Touch along with many other jobs over the years. Gaming was another passion of Danny’s. He collected hundreds of games and many gaming systems. Danny met many of his friends through gaming Live with other gamers. Those gaming friends became extended family to Danny.

Danny is preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Joe Dye and nephew, little Bobby Fox. He is survived by his sister, Gwendolyn Dye, nieces and nephews, extended family and special friends. Danny will be missed by all who knew him. Prior to death, Danny lived at Tallmadge Health and Rehab. He loved the staff and in return, the staff loved Danny.
