Darrell Grove, age 63 of Wilmot, Ohio, went home to our Lord and Savior on December 22, 2019. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a retired truck driver and heavy equipment operator for a local contractor where he worked for Lenny Altimore who would also become a very close friend. He was also a retired firefighter for the Brewster, Ohio and Navarre, Ohio volunteer fire departments. The firefighter brotherhood remained dear to his heart through the very end.
Darrell was quite a character. Everyone who knew him was aware that he was quick to crack a joke or to be ready to get picked on. The love he had for his wife was like no other. He was a very devoted husband to his dear wife, Kay. He made it known that she was the love of his life and the two of them were the very best of friends. Although his children are not all blood, the word “step” was never in his vocabulary. He loved all 5 of them very much. He also loved fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Wynola Kay Grove, sons, Mike (Jackie) Leglise and Kevin (Tina) Leglise, daughters, Cindy (Kenny) Klotz and Mindy (Jim) Wilgus, brothers Ted (Linda) Grove and Herbert Grove, and many grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Herbert, mother, Alice, sisters, Alice Sparks and Pat Davis, brother, Carl, and his precious son, Justin.
Darrell’s soul may have left us but part of him will continue to live on. He donated for burn victims and cancer patients, thus continuing to help those in need. This is what he would have wanted.
