Cleveland
David Roland Courtad (75) passed away peacefully with both of his sisters by his side on March 13, 2024. He was born to the late Genevieve Courtad (Gronek) and Roland V. Courtad on February 25, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio.
God has welcomed David home and reunited with the love of his life the late Alvina Courtad (Cunningham) in joyful heaven.
Proudly David celebrated 47th years of sobriety with AA in Cleveland, Ohio. He took his role in the AA community very seriously. He was not just committed to the program it truly was what he lived for. The AA community were not just his friends they were defiantly family to him. He looked forward to his daily meeting and sometimes even twice a day!
AA was not his only devotion. Being raised in Independence, Ohio and a High School Graduate of Brecksville High School his true love was The Cleveland Browns and The Cleveland Guardians (Indians). He knew every player, stats and statistics like the back of his hand. Most importantly, he would be honest if he knew they might have been playing a better team. None the less, he was always a Cleveland Fan!
He will be remembered as a Beloved Brother to Carol Svenson (Eric), Nancy Campbell (David), Late Terry Courtad (Michelle), Michael Courtad (Rebecca). An Adored Uncle to Ryan Salsbury (Allison), Spencer Salsbury (Victoria), Tyler Courtad (Lindsey), Melissa Courtad, Brooke Courtad and Tanner Courtad. Always Cherished Great-Uncle to Austin Salsbury (Brianna) and Ella Courtad.
The family will be having a Celebration of Life Service to honor David which will follow in months to come in Cleveland, Ohio. David will then be lay to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City, Michigan with his forever treasured mother, father and wife.
