David Zeitler

David Lawrence Zeitler, 83, was born on March 14th, 1939, in Toledo, Ohio, and went home to be with the lord on February 19th, 2023. Dave has been a proud resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, since 1954. He was a tool & die maker for the majority of his life, retiring in 1999. Dave and his wife, Dawn were married September 20th, 1980 and were married for 42 loving years. Together they raised not only children but a collection of animals, from dogs to birds to ferrets.

Dave was a lover of the outdoors. He loved hunting of all kinds, but especially loved hunting with his dogs, Bea & Emma. He was a lover of cars and was fondly referred to as “Mustang Dave.” He spent many afternoons, nights and weekends working on his beloved ‘70 BOSS 302. He loved ketchup, specifically Heinz 57 and put it on everything, eggs, mac n cheese, anything! When he wasn’t working on his car he was out at the campground. Dave was an all-around family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Thelma & Lesley Zeitler, brothers, John, Robert & James Zeitler.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Dawn L. Zeitler; son, Joseph Zeitler (Shelby Hough); 3 daughters, Tammy (Gary) Brainard, Rebecca (Henry) Wells, Holly Nelson; 11 grandchildren, Kari (Anthony) Patterson & Korey (Delanie) Nelson, Tabitha (Jacob) Albright, Dalton (Kayli) Brainard & Mason Brainard, Hank, Josie, Phoebe & Harry Wells, Colton Zeitler & Nellie Zeitler; five  great-grandchildren, Levi, Avery & Hadley Albright, Vera Brainard and Aurora Nelson; sisters-in-law, Jenny Zeitler; nephews Brian & Jeremy Zeitler & Dale (Joe) Fischer; brother-in-law, Donnie (Mel) Dull; nieces, Beth (Rusty) Stewart & Heather Dull; long-time neighbors and friends, The Smith’s & The Denning’s; many great nieces and nephews and tons of near and dear friends.

Private funeral service to take place at First Christian Church in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on March 14th, 2023 at 3pm. A celebration of life to follow the funeral service, location to be announced.
