Deborah A. “Debbie” Wylam, 73, of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024 at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.
Debbie was born in Salem, Ohio on September 4, 1950 as the oldest of three children of Donald and Shirlee Wylam. She grew up in Sebring, Ohio and was a 1968 graduate of Sebring McKinley High School. After 25+ years of service working first at the Stark County Public Library and then Minerva Public Library, she retired in 2010. After retirement she enjoyed many years volunteering as a driver with the American Red Cross and as a poll worker with the Stark County Board of Elections.
She is preceded in death by her brother, David, her father, Donald, and her mother, Shirlee.
She is survived by her daughter, Erin Brumbaugh, whom she adored, beloved ex-son in law and shenanigans cohort, Michael; grandsons, Kaleb and Xander Brumbaugh, who she loved beyond measure and was extremely proud of, all of Canton, Ohio; best friend of 65 years, Denise Ramey of Sebring, OH; treasured friends ,Mary Jo Mirocke, Phyllis Goodman, and Joyce Doane; as well as many other wonderful friends and former coworkers.
Debbie wishes to spend eternity at the beach, so her ashes will be spread at her favorite place, Myrtle Beach at a later date. Since Debbie never liked to be the center of attention, and in honoring her wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stark County District Library and/or your local American Red Cross chapter.
