Debra J. Leighton

Debra J. Leighton age 63 of Canton passed away of a short, unexpected illness May 8, 2023. Born August 25, 1959 in Canton, Ohio to the late Clyde and Joyce (English) Carpenter. She graduated from Louisville High School and worked at Fisher Foods for 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed going fishing, watching wrestling and cartoons. She was enjoying her retirement with her companion dog, Crickett. She was a huge fan of chocolate and turtles!

She is survived by her three children, April Carpenter of Canton, Jamie (Mychel) Brownfield of South Carolina and Mark (Kelly) Miles Jr of South Carolina; four brothers, Clyde Carpenter, Michael Carpenter, Larry Carpenter and John Carpenter; five grandchildren, Xavier Hutson (17), Brooklyn Brownfield (17), Colton Estep (15) Mykie Brownfield (14), Hannah Brownfield (8).

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her spouse, Mark Miles Sr.
