Diane Steimel, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of February 4, while at Aultman Hospital. She was born in Rushville, Indiana on August 18, 1931 to Margaret & William Ruhlman. In her teens, her family moved to Oxford, OH where she later graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1953. Soon after, she married WIlliam Steimel and left for Paris, France where Bill was stationed during the Korean Conflict. They later returned to Bill's hometown of Millersburg, OH to start their family, eventually raising 4 boys. Diane had numerous interests over her long life, including collecting early American furniture with her husband, briefly working as a substitute teacher at Lake High School, volunteering at Aultman Hospital, member of the Red Hat Society, and volunteering at Quail Hollow State Park. Besides her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Bill; her sister, Helen, and her oldest son, Mark. She is survived by sons, Matt of Ft. Lauderdale, Tim and Jon, both of Uniontown, OH. Diane was a gracious and caring person and will be greatly missed.
