Dieter Paul Knauf
Dieter Paul Knauf, age 89 passed away peacefully February 5, 2023, in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. He was born on July 31, 1933, in Plittersdorf, Germany, and immigrated to the United States at age 28. Dieter married the late Eleonore (nee Roenn), and the two of them owned the former May-Som Dry Cleaners.
They enjoyed traveling all over the world, especially to Germany, Austria, and Arizona. He and Eleonore were active members of the Church of Saint Anslem in Chester Township, Ohio; including participating with the bereavement committee, the annual Thanksgiving dinner, and confirmation receptions.
Dieter was the loving husband of Eleonore, brother, of Herbert (Edelgard); uncle of Britta Knauf-Kontis; son of the late Heinrich and Paula Knauf.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:15 am Saturday March 4, 2023 at the Church of Saint Anslem, 12969 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Dieter’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences and special memories of Dieter can be shared with his family online at
