Doris Hope Johnson

Doris Hope Johnson passed away November 17, 2024 in Akron, Ohio at the age of 96. She was born in Caldwell, Ohio and lived there until 1946 when she married Donald Dale Johnson, and moved to northeastern Ohio. She was the mother of Randy, David, Doreen and Jon; the grandmother of Aliesha, Jon II, Dylan, Clare, Caitlin, Blake, Hayley  and Tyler; and great grandmother of Chase, Isabella, Ryland, Catherine, Jon III, Maddi, Audrey, Benjamin, and Hattie.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Dale; her son, Jon; her brother, Gene; sisters, Mary, Pat and Phyllis. 

She will be greatly missed by her sister, Elaine; sister-in-law, Lois; and all her nieces and nephews. 

Doris will be remembered for her gentleness, kindness and love. She was active in the Methodist Church and was a Sunday school teacher. She volunteered for the March of Dimes and organized a neighborhood charitable group called Heaven’s Helpers. She relaxed by growing plants and flowers. She was always known as happy and smiling and affectionately called “MeMe”. 

Family will receive friends Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 12:00 noon until services begin at 1:00pm at North Hampton United Methodist Church. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Condolences and special memories of Doris can be shared with her family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com
