Dwight W. Wilson

October 22, 1947 — December 25, 2024

Cuyahoga Falls

Dwight W. Wilson, age 77, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, passed away December 25, 2024, at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls following a six month decline of health. Born in Circleville, Ohio, on October 22, 1947, Dwight was adopted at age 2 by the late Dwight H. and Thelma Wilson of Circleville, Ohio.

Besides his parents, Dwight is preceded in death by his sister, Ginger, and his son, Robby.

Survivors include his loving wife of 3 years, Marlene Brown Wilson, who was the love of his life since they were 14; son, Stuart F. (Kristen) Wilson and baby granddaughter, Lyla Wilson, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois; and best friend, Dr. Steven Segal of Indianapolis, Indiana.

After graduating from Circleville High School in 1965 Dwight attended Kent State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in education. He taught elementary school for several years. He pursued his interest in psychology and received a master’s degree from Akron University. Dwight spent most of his career as a Licensed Addictions Counselor; he last retired in 2021 as manager and counselor for Dr. Steven Segal’s addictions medical treatment practice in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dwight loved music and could identify all the artists and their songs. He found passion in learning about everything and enjoyed documentaries on tv. Dwight believed that everyone has a duty to keep up with current events, the news, and politics, and he always sought out the truth in what was being reported. Dwight’s favorite tv show was Yellowstone, which led to his affinity for cowboy hats.

Dwight was a kind, loving, generous, caring man who always wanted to help others and never cause anyone pain or distress. He found great joy in finally reuniting with and marrying Marlene and spending his last few years showering her with love and attention. He will be missed by all who knew him.

There will be no calling hours or services. Condolences and special memories of Dwight can be shared with his family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com.
