Edward L. Vaughn, 72, of Akron, passed away Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024. A salesman and machinist by trade, he always loved talking to people and working with his hands. Known to many as Fast Eddie, he had a gift for cracking jokes, storytelling, and being the life of the party.
Ed loved woodworking, fishing, and helping others in his community. Most of all, he loved cheering on his grandkids at their sporting events and spending time together.
Despite life’s hardships, Ed was grounded in faith and worked endlessly to “Let Go and Let God.” He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and June Vaughn. He is survived by his children Adam (Jodi) Vaughn and Lisa (Pat) Hurley. Ed never arrived at a gathering without even the smallest of treasures for his eight beloved grandchildren: Breah, Jimmy, Andrew, Maddie, Jenna, Claire, Allie, and Tommy. The family is grateful to many of his lifelong friends and others who helped him along his way.
The family will be holding private services to honor the life of Ed and encourages all who knew him and loved him to take time to celebrate his life. Donations can be made to One of a Kind Pets in his honor. Condolences and special memories of Ed can be shared with his family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com
