Ernest "Jim" Stewart

Ernest "Jim" J. Stewart passed away November 14, 2024 at Compassionate Care in Canton, Ohio. He was born April 15, 1946 in Massillon, Ohio to the late Vivian J. (Loudiana) Woods and Ernest L. Stewart. Jim served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Union Painter for the Local 603 of Canton, and a member of the Navarre VFW. He loved going to the casino, yardwork then sitting on the porch enjoying the view of his labor and the wildlife. 

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his sister, Susan Stotzer; stepfather, Donald Woods; and brother-in-law, Steve Girt. 

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Peggy Stewart of the home; sons, Jamie Stewart and Jayson (Kim) Stewart; sisters, Susette Girt and Tina Savage; grandchildren, Alyssa and Alex Stewart; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank everyone at Compassionate Care for their kindness and support.
