Etta Mae Epperson

Etta Mae Epperson (Martin) 96 of Alliance, passed away peacefully July 3, 2023.  Etta was born January 18, 1927 in Canton, Ohio, where she lived most of her life. She was the youngest of six siblings to the late Fred and Bessie (Shario) Martin.

She graduated from Canton South HS in 1945, worked as a bookkeeper at the Spindler Co. and a member of the Aqua Power Boat Club. She soloed a plane, conquered her fear of thunderstorms, and water all due to the love and trust of her loving husband, Louis Epperson, whom she was married to for 59 years, and he passed away in 2008.

Etta’s greatest joy was her family and spending time with them. She especially enjoyed cookouts, holidays, birthdays and anytime the family was together.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lewis “Lou” Epperson; her son, Karl “Bucky” Epperson; brothers, Bernard, Paul, and Harold; sisters, Velma (Horansky), and Maxine (Jones).

Etta was a loving and cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of Darlene (Tony) Girard; grandchildren, Paul Epperson, Michael Girard, and Angela (Matthew) Clay; great- grandchildren; Lillian Clay, Andrew Clay, Caitlin Epperson, Robert Epperson, and Izabella Epperson.

Etta will be deeply missed by her loving family and dear friends.
