Gail Marie Hudson was a remarkable woman whose life was a vivid tapestry woven with boundless compassion, rich laughter, and a melody of faith. Born on July 17, 1955, in Akron, Ohio, Gail lived to the age of 69, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those lucky enough to know her. A devoted Christian, her faith was her guiding light, and it reflected in every facet of her life.
Her pursuit of knowledge and self-betterment was truly inspiring. She studied diligently at Goshen College, Akron University, and Cleveland State, along with taking many Reiki courses she amassed a wealth of education that enhanced her many talents. Among her career milestones, becoming a Certified Reflexologist was a source of great pride. But nothing compared to the joy she felt when her lifelong passion for music culminated in selling her first song. Her proudest moments didn't stop there—her personal achievements in birthing and raising her three children, her many rescue animals, writing songs and poetry, and her performances in her church band, brought endless delight not only to her but to every soul she shared a space with.
Gail was a steadfast pillar in her community. Her generous spirit knew no bounds, helping anyone she could along her journey and donating to causes that were dear to her heart such as the Akron Firefighters, the World Wildlife Fund, and the Disabled American Veterans. She led by example, proving that no act of kindness is too small. To honor her memory, donations can be made to any of these organizations in her name.
The memories of her radiating personality and her nurturing heart comfort us as we remember her life well-lived. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sarah Hudson, her brother Randy, and her son Charlie. Yet her legacy continues through her beloved surviving family: her brother Paul, her sister Bonnie, her daughter Arielle and her son Jeffrey.
Gail's life will be celebrated at a service held at the First Baptist Church of Akron at 1670 Shatto Ave, Akron, Ohio 44313 on January 4th, 2024. Calling hours begin at 3:30 p.m., followed by the service at 4:00 p.m. Lilacs and Roses were Gail's favorite, but any flowers or remembrances for the family will be greatly appreciated and can be sent to the church for the service.
