He was born March 22, 1946, in Massillon, Ohio to David Levi and Emma Pearl Weygandt, he grew up in Massillon, but his family moved to Pinconning, Michigan where he graduated high school in 1965. Gary was heavily involved in the Massillon Tigers booster club and was a beloved youth coach in several sports. He was also a Master Mason, an active member of the Moose club, and an active member of the Sons and Daughters of Herman. Gary also had an exceptional music talent. He was a self-taught musician and was a lead singer/guitarist in two bands; Ohio Sounds of Country and Southern Tradition. In recent years, he taught himself how to play the fiddle. You could also find him, from Massillon to Scio, at karaoke singing his heart out.
