George Jeffery Woodworth of Euclid, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 19, 2023 surrounded by family at 72 years old. He was a lifelong fisherman enjoying many weekends on his boat, The Mouse Trap on Lake Erie “drowning bait.” He also enjoyed the outdoors, skiing and camping in his younger years. George and his wife, Lisa, spent time together trap and skeet shooting.
Over the years he has helped and supported numerous Clevelanders in need. George spent 20 years working for the Salvation Army as Director of the Homeless Shelter at the Harbor Light Complex.
George met his wife of 48 years at the age of 15 at a DeMolay/Rainbow Caroling Party. They built their life together in Oakland, California, eventually moving back to the Cleveland area where they raised their two children.
George is survived by his wife, Lisa (née: Mercadante), daughter Shannon (Jason) Andre, son Jeff (Ashley) Woodworth and four grandchildren, Kara Andre, Kaitlyn Andre, Jason Tyler Andre and Casper Woodworth. He is also survived by his sister Lu W DiPadova (née: Woodworth), sister-in-law Lori (Rusty) Anderson, one nephew and many nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William E Woodworth and Helen Woodworth (née: Ennes) and his mother-in-law, Esther.
Per his request, there will be no calling hours. The family requests contributions be made in his memory to The Salvation Army of Greater Cleveland. Donations will go towards Project Share Transitional Program for Men, a program important to George. Donations can be sent to:
