Gregory “Greggie” Scott Berger II

January 5, 1972 – September 25, 2024

Gregory S. Berger II age 52 of Newcomerstown (Peoli), Ohio passed away at 2:00pm, Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Southeastern Ohio Region Medical Center in Cambridge. He was suffering from an illness. 

He attended Newcomerstown High School and later finished GED at Davidson County Community College in North Carolina. He worked at Thomasville Furniture Inc.,upholstery for 15 years in North Carolina. He moved back home to care for his mother, Anne. He then worked at Dutch Valley in Sugarcreek, Ohio. Greg enjoyed life, loved fishing, gardening and going out with his friends. He always had a positive side even though he was having a bad day. His kindness, his love, has touched so many people. Recently, Greg had found his high-school sweetheart, Beth. After 30 years apart, they connected as if they were never apart. He was finally happy and gave him a more positive outlook on life. “I love you, Beth”. 

Greg was affiliated with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Newcomerstown, going to Sunday School and Bible Study on Wednesdays. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gregory S. Berger I, and mother, Anne Louise (Wilson) Darrah and his daughter, Amber Dawn Murphy McKnight. 

Greg is survived by his brother, Theron P (fiancé’ Amy C. Hart) Berger of Newcomerstown; his companion, Beth Swegheimer of Newcomerstown; four grandsons; several uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and his cats and dog, Peanut.
