Howard Ray Shingleton

April 4, 1949 — September 19, 2024

Cleveland

Howard Ray Shingleton peacefully passed away after an 8 year fight with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (a form of Leukemia). Much loved and missed by his wife, Cindy Dover.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Edgar Ray and Minnie (Fullen), sisters Elizabeth, Edna, Ruby and much loved son, Mike.

Survived by his sister Jane (Frank Martin). Much loved father of Scott (Kristi). Grandfather of Michael, Jakob(Amanda), Lucas and Kyle.

Ray was raised in Shinnston, West Virginia. He always said he spent more of his life in Ohio than W. Virginia and considered himself a Buckbilly. Ray was a kind, loving, caring, and generous person. He touched many lives and made friends easily. He loved fishing, camping, bowling, and tinkering around in the garage. Always quick with a "Happy Days" and a wave. He always made himself available if someone needed help. Always supported me in my dog showing and loved our dogs. Ray was a big Ohio State fan. He also loved the Cleveland Gaurdians (even though he hated the name change). He loved our many trips to the Outer Banks in North Carolina.

Ray wished to be cremated and his ashes spread in the Outer Banks. There will be no services. He chose to have a celebration of life while he was still here.

He will be missed terribly. He is free from the pain and suffering he endured with his illness and is most certainly in a better place. We will always love you and never forget you!!! Condolences and special memoreis of Ray can be shared with his family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com
