Ida Mae Von Ach

Ida Mae Von Ach, age 88, passed away on January 26, 2023.  She was born November 5, 1934 in Aurora Illinois to the late Earnest and Gladys Grubaugh. Ida was a homemaker and a long-term resident of the Akron, Ohio area.  She had several hobbies that included ceramics and crocheting. Ida especially enjoyed doing word-search puzzles.  Her biggest joy was her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Leland R. Von Ach, daughter Ethel Hopkins and great grandson Jacob Thomas.

Ida is survived by her son, Leland J. (Belinda) Von Ach, grandchildren John (Shauna) Hopkins, Victoria (Joseph) Kowalczyk, Samantha (Clay) Von Ach and William Von Ach, great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan and Haylee Hopkins, Jeffrey and Jayde Thomas, Joseph (JAK) and Gabriel Kowalczyk.

Ida was cremated and her remains will be interred in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio with her husband, who was a World War II veteran, on a date yet to be determined. Condolences and special memories of Ida can be shared with her family online at
