In Loving Memory of Iris Simmons: Forever in Our Hearts

Iris Simmons peacefully left this earthly life on January 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Duisburg, Germany on October 18, 1960, she devoted her life to caring for her family and being a support system to everyone around her. Iris was a hard worker, supervising at Park Farms for over 20 years of her life. She found joy in watching the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sundays and was also a fan of the Golden State Warriors. She had a great sense of humor, a love for good food and music, and we will forever cherish hearing her unique laugh fill the room.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents, Karl Heinz and Edda Daubenspeck, as well as her husband, Steven G. Simmons.

She is survived by her siblings, Thomas and Petra; children, Patrick (Kendra), Tiffany and Steven; grandchildren, Nathan, Alec (Whitney)k, Alyssa, Mila, Evin, Sophia, Ciera, and Elias, and great-grandchildren, Celia and Daisy.

Per Iris’s request, cremation has taken place. A private and intimate family gathering will take place to honor her memories.

The family would like to thank Aultman Hospice and nursing staff for their loving care of Iris. Condolences and special memories of Iris can be shared with her loved ones online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com.

A note from her grandson, Nathan:

Many of us younger ones in the family would call Iris our grandma, but she played a role for a lot of us like she was or could have been our mother. She was the most selfless person you could ever meet when it came to the ones she loved and cared about most. Iris sacrificed her whole life working not even for herself but for all of us. There was never a time when Iris wasn’t there any of us when we needed somebody. She was the one person everyone felt like they could count on. We love you grandma and think about you every day from when we wake up until we fall asleep. I wish you were here with us right now, although you’re in a better place. I still get a little selfish about you, I miss and love you more than I was able to express when you were here, wish I did more often, but you are always thought of and appreciated. I love you. -nate.
