James E. Keppler, 89 of Independence, Ohio passed away peacefully February 22, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born September 3, 1930 in Cleveland to the late Louis and Eleanor (Halligan) Keppler. A lifelong resident of Independence, Jim spent his career as a member of Cleveland IBEW Local 38. The ultimate handyman and master craftsman, he enjoyed many athletic pursuits, such as speed skating, cycling, tennis, bowling and was a passionate model airplane builder. The French River, Ontario was his “happy place”, where he enjoyed over 60 years of fishing with his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, June; daughters June (Pete) Getzinger, Patricia and Kim (Gordon) Repp; sister Eleanor Dougher and grandchildren Greg, Gordon, Aspyn, Graham, Lauryn and Cheyne.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by brothers Louis and Tom, and sister Ruth Leahy.

A service Celebrating Jim’s life will be held Saturday, February 29th at 10:00 am at Kent State Neuman Center, Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, 1424 Horning Road, Kent, Ohio.
