Jeanne K. Wertman (Orman )age 94, of North Canton passed away peacefully at her home on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023. Born on August 17, 1928, in Spokane, Wash., she lived the majority of her long life in the Canton area.
A gifted artist and crafts-person, Jeanne continued using her gifts well into her nineties and, most recently, took on a new challenge — painting with watercolors. She stood by the philosophy that “it’s never too late” and proved it in her newfound love of painting. Last December, she was featured on WKYC-TV’s “Heartstrings” series for having taken up painting at her age.
Many people sent Jeanne photos of her paintings framed and displayed in their homes. Many had stories behind what they wanted to have her paint. She was amazed and gratified that her work brought such joy to others.
We, Jeanne’s family, loved her and will miss her greatly, but we take comfort in the knowledge that she spent her final years doing something she truly loved.
We would like to thank Mary East, her caretaker and friend, for all she did for Jeanne in her final days and weeks.
Jeanne is preceded in death by Mickey Kutt, George Wertman, Robert Wyskocil, and her granddaughter, Robyn Harter.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Suni (Jimmy) Banta and Karen (David) Edgecombe; 2 sons, Daniel (Kimberly) Kutt and David Kutt; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives.
Family and friends will be invited to a Celebration of Life for Jeanne to occur at a future date and time. Condolences and special memories of Jeanne can be shared with her family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com
