John "JD" Edward DeFratis

July 19, 1955 – April 12, 2025

John Edward DeFratis, affectionately known as JD, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, after bravely battling cancer. He was the devoted husband of Michele (Giunto) for nearly 40 years and a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

John was the son of Edward and Janet (Minch) DeFratis, both deceased. He was a cherished brother to James (deceased), William, and Jacqueline (Lloyd) (deceased). He is survived by his beloved son, Patrick Fissell, his wife Maria (Zamboni), and his treasured grandchildren, Tommy and Julia, who brought him great joy.

A hardworking industrial worker by trade, JD found fulfillment in life’s simple pleasures. He was a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan, a passionate fisherman, a lover of music, and had a deep bond with his many German Shepherds over the years.

He will be dearly missed but forever remembered by those who loved him.
