John J. Eckerfield, Sr

John J. Eckerfield, Sr born on December 27, 1950 and passed away peacefully on August 17, 2023.  John was born in Cleveland, Ohio to James and Irene (Suchina) Eckerfield and is survived by his beloved son, John Eckerfield Jr.

He retired from being an inspector of goods coming in and out of the country. John served in the US Army for three years and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam war conflict. He was honorably discharged and received the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and Sharpshooter Badge (M16). John was a lifelong member of the American Legion. John enjoyed NASCAR and was a Cleveland Browns fan.  In his spare time, he liked going to his trailer in Pymatuning. He will be loved and missed by many.  Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with honors on September 6,  2023.
