John Harold LeMay, 60, of Navarre, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on October 25, 2022 at Aultman Hospital. Born October 27, 1961, in Canton, Ohio, a son to Richard and Jacqueline (Philpott) LeMay, John graduated from Perry High School where he excelled in academics and football.
John lived in the Fairless area for the majority of his life. He was a family man first, and an entrepreneur with a passion for managing restaurants. He and his ex-wife, Donna Boydston, and his parents founded LeMay’s Hall of Foam, a family restaurant and bar, which operated for 13 years in Canton until its closure in 1998. John was an active owner of Canton Lube Partners, a Quaker Steak and Lube franchisee, and was CFO of Bolan Management Group, which opened various restaurant concepts throughout the country. Later in life, John founded and operated Between The Lines, a pilot car service company, for the past nine years.
Throughout his life, John loved taking trips to Las Vegas as well as family vacations in Orlando, Florida, Rice Lake in Canada, and cruises to the Caribbean and Mexico. John cherished his time playing cards with his dad at the Navarre VFW. As an avid movie fan, John could impressively recite funny quotes given the circumstances.
John was a loyal Cleveland sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Guardians, Browns, and Cavs alike with his father, children, and friends. John was a devoted father who would do anything for his family. He wore his heart on his sleeve and would give anyone the shirt off of his back. John was best known by those who loved him for his generosity, his love of his family, and his dad jokes.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline (Philpott) LeMay, and his sister, Suzanne LeMay. John is lovingly survived by his father Richard LeMay, sister Brenda LeMay, children Ashlee (Randy) Woods and Richard (Kathleen) LeMay, grandchildren Aleah and Wyatt Woods, and Dean LeMay, as well as three nephews and two nieces.
A celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 1-3pm at the Navarre VFW: 6680 Woodland Hill Rd. SW Navarre, Ohio 44662. Food will be provided as well as a cash bar.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in honor of John to Cleveland Guardians Charities, an organization that John himself donated to. Condolences may be shared with John’s family online at
