John Zadra

John Zadra 67, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, in Community Hospice at the Truman House in New Philadelphia. Born September 7, 1954, he was the son of the late Julius and Goldie (Summers) Zadra and a 1972 graduate of Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School.  John worked for Mid-Ohio Contracting for many years. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed hunting, gardening and trips to the casino with his wife, Donna, to play the slot machines.

John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna (Ruegsegger) Zadra whom he married on June 25, 1973; three children, Annie (Dave) Carver of Dover, Joey (Jeannette) Zadra of New Philadelphia and Johnna (Kyle) Winters of Chesapeake, Virginia; 10 grandchildren, Skylar, Gracen, Lanie, Sydney, Drew, Haley and Luke, Adrianna, McKenna and Julianna; two brothers, five sisters; and his two beloved Rottweilers, Lucky and Indy. If you ever met John, he was sure to tell you about his pups.

In keeping with John’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services. The family will have a celebration of his life at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John’s name to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County and the Truman House.
