"When someone you love becomes a memory, their memories become some of our greatest treasures"
On Tuesday, March 18th, 2025, we lost our beautiful wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend, Joyce M. Gatto, at the age of 72.
Joyce grew up in Aurora, Ohio and graduated from Aurora High School in 1971. She lived in Mantua, Ohio until her passing.
Joyce enjoyed spending her summers vacationing at Hilton Head Island. The beach was definitely one of her favorite places to be. She loved swimming, the sun, lighthouses and fresh caught seafood. She loved the Cleveland Browns! She wore her favorite Baker Mayfield jersey quite often, even when he was no longer with the team. She was a dedicated and loyal fan, for sure. She enjoyed nature. She liked taking walks around Beartown Lake and long drives to see the leaves changing in the Fall. She adored her family and enjoyed every moment she spent with them. Family was her everything.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years, Dean Gatto; Daughter, Devon Wagner (Kraig); Her cherished grandchildren Dominic, Zackary and Jaxson; Siblings, Dale Kotrlik, Cheryl (Don) Shields, Lauren (Tony) Brancazio, Gayle (Jim) Moore; In-laws, Debby Gatto and Jeff Knapik; Many treasured cousins, nieces, nephews and friends and by her loved and adored cat, Toby.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Lund and stepfather, Joe Lund; Her father, Richard Kotrlik Sr.; Mother and father in-law, Mary Jule and Richard L. Gatto; Siblings, Gary Kotrlik and Richard H. Kotrlik Jr. and her brother-in-law, Richard Gatto.
She had the best smile, an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. She loved fiercely and cared about everyone. She will be missed dearly by all that had the privilege of knowing her.
Rest in peace our sweet angel. We love you always, XO.
