Judy Ann Strosnider

November 6, 1943 — February 14, 2025

Dover

Judy Ann (Babcock) Strosnider, age 81, of Dover, Ohio, fell asleep in death on February 14, 2025. Born on November 6, 1943, in Marietta, Ohio, Judy spent most of her youth there.

In December 1962, Judy married Emerson Strosnider, and their journey together began. They briefly resided in Dallas, TX where they welcomed their first child, Susan Elaine. A couple of years later, they moved to Columbus, OH, where their second daughter, Melanie Ann, was born, and several years later they moved to Moundsville, WV where their son Phillip Ray was born. After raising their children to adulthood, they relocated to Florida, where they spent nearly 20 years near their daughter Elaine.

In 2012, they decided to move to Dover, Ohio, to be closer to their son Phil, daughter Melanie, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Judy and Emerson were happily married for 60 beautiful years until Emerson’s passing on May 23, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with illness.

Judy, a woman deeply devoted to many things, found her first and foremost love in her Father and God Jehovah. This love was symbolized by her baptism as one of Jehovah’s Witness in her teens. She was also resolute in following her role model, Jesus, and demonstrating her love for family, both immediate and extended.

Judy found immense joy in sharing Bible truths and hope with others. It was one of her greatest delights. This genuine and authentic love inspired many, particularly her children, to carry on her and their father’s spiritual legacy, to Jehovah God’s honor.

Judy’s faith in Bible teaching, such as Job 14:14 and 15, gave her unwavering comfort and assurance that if she died she would reunite with all these loved ones. This belief is reflected in the loving words and poetry she left behind, which will continue to be cherished by her family and friends until that time.

Judy, was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Lydia (Stuber) Babcock, of Marietta, OH; her brothers, Jerry Babcock of Canton, OH; Max Babcock of Massillon, OH; Bobby Babcock of Marietta, OH; and her sisters, Madoline (Babcock) Burkhart of Akron, OH and Margie (Babcock) Corbett of St. Clairsville, OH.

Judy is survived by three sisters: Donna Corbett of Powhatan Point, OH; Bonnie Furman of Winchester, VA; and Linda Piggott of Phoenix, AZ. Also her two daughters, Susan Elaine (Strosnider) Fillman of Salem, OR, and Melanie Ann (Strosnider) Moore of Dover, OH. Additionally, she is survived by her son, Philip Ray Strosnider, of New Philadelphia, OH, her grandson, Jeremy Dryburgh, and his wife, Vanessa, of Yorkville, OH. Her granddaughter Alexa (Strosnider) Thompson and her husband, Auston, of Middleport , OH.

Judy’s family is also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Aavery, Keziah, Finley, and Caydence Emery (in honor of her great-grandfather, Emerson) Dryburgh, all of whom reside in Yorkville, OH.

In addition to her immediate family, Judy is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews. Judy also so cherished her beloved “daughter/daughter-in-law,” Anna Strosnider, and her sons-in-law, John Moore and Brent Fillman.

Judy’s family expresses their deepest gratitude for your love, support, and prayers during this difficult time. You have truly fulfilled the words at 1 Thessalonians 5:1, and we thank Jehovah God for each of you.
