Junior Lee Blake

Junior Lee Blake age 82 of Dover, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023 in the Truman Hospice House after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.  Born January 22, 1941 in Strasburg, Ohio. Junior was a son of the late Raymond and Gretchen (Howell) Blake. He married Shirley Greisen May 20, 1963.

Together the couple raised three children.  He learned the carpentry trade at an early age and became a self-employed carpenter and general contractor. His passion was always for horses. He was well known for always having good riding stock that he bought and traded.

Junior is survived by his wife Shirley; his children, Wendy Blake of Dover, Jerry Blake of Dover, and Jodi Gregory of Magnolia; brothers, Bill Rohn of Steubenville, Ohio; Ray (Beverly) Blake of New Philadelphia, Ohio; sisters, Peg (Dale) Jeffers of Oregon, Ohio, Clara Montjoy of New Philadelphia, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his infant sister, Nancy, infant daughter Julie Ann and grandson, Ryan Blake

A memorial service will be held for Junior on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at New Pointe Community Church, Dover. Visitation will be held 6:00-6:30pm with Memorial Service from 6:30-7:00pm in Room 200. Park and enter from the rear parking lot on the south side of the building.  Immediate family will meet for fellowship  and a meal from 7:00-8:00pm.
