Karen Sue Hayes

August 7, 1947 — October 28, 2024

Karen Sue Hayes (Flesher) went home to be with the lord on October 28th, 2024, after losing her long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Sue went to heaven peacefully with her stepdaughter and granddaughter, Kamryn by her side. Sue was born August 7th, 1947, in Akron, Ohio, to Dallas and Marjorie Flesher(Spangler). She was a beloved wife to Jerry Hayes for almost 40 years, an adored mother, and Rachel Sue Hayes's best friend. Rachel and Sue are now reunited in Heaven, and they are probably dancing in fields of sunflowers.

Sue was also the mother she didn't have to be to Gerald Hayes, Nicole McCulty (Hayes), Mathew McClung, and Jamie Harmon. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren Hannah, Robbie, Andrew, Kamryn, Lilith, Samuel, Joe, Sophia, David, and Zoe.

She spent most of her life taking care of others. She was patient, kind hearted, and understanding. She will be missed by her in-laws and countless others. Karen Sue had an amazing, loving, and unconditional bond with her three beautiful sisters, Sandi (Bill) Birch, Cindy (Larry) Nelson, and Shari(Joe) Krunich. They have always been there for each other, and now Cindy and Sue, along with their younger brother, Jimmy, will patiently wait in Heaven until they are all four sisters and their brother are joined together in heaven.

Nobody will miss Sue as much as her husband, Jerry. Sue was the love of his life and he will miss her every minute of every day.

A memorial service will be held across from Karen and Jerry’s home in Rittman at: The Easton United Methodist Church with pastor Julia Wertz on Sunday, November 17th, 2024 at 2 pm. Service begins at 2 pm, and snacks and drinks will be served afterward. Flowers or donations may be sent to Jerry's home. Contact Nikki McCulty for information. Condolences and special memories of Sue can be shared with her family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com
