After weeks of declining health, Karen Reilly passed away on the morning of December 21, 2021. She is survived by her sons Thomas Francis Reilly V, Corey Reilly (wife Stephanie Bukvic), and Christian Robert Carter; brother Norman Westley Ratliff (widower of Tammy Ratliff); her dog Bazing; furry grandchildren Rufus and Graham, and a slew of relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
She is preceded by her son Christopher Miller; former husband Thomas Francis Reilly IV; parents Annie Ratliff and Norman Ratliff; and brother Danielle Renee Ratliff. She was a graduate of both South High School and Remington College and a former dog breeder.
Karen was a homebody but also a character in the truest sense of the word. She was a lover of telling tales, both tall and small. She was a best friend and second mother to many. She did her best to make everyone feel at home with her, even if she did not know them. Her struggles with depression inspired her sons to take control of their lives. The world is a little quieter and a little more boring with her gone.
In accordance with her wishes, Karen will be cremated. An event in her honor is being planned by her family for the summer of 2022, details of which will be posted on her Facebook (

). In lieu of flowers or cards, her family requests donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
