Kathryn “Kathy” Glasgow Priebe passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Friday, February 11th. Her spirit is finally free of her earthly body and she can be at peace. She was born June 22, 1952, in Akron, OH. She grew up in the Akron area, and except for about 13 years in the ’70s and ’80s, lived here most of her life. Kathy graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1970 and still gathered with classmates regularly. Kathy led a career in retail support positions, providing exemplary customer service in every role.
About 10 years ago, she reconnected with her best friend and partner, Greg “MR” Raies. They have been inseparable ever since – enjoying a love unlike either of them had experienced before. They traveled together at every opportunity – seeing new sights, visiting family, and just spending time together. They took on every challenge together, for better and for worse.
Kathy’s children and grandchildren were her joy and are her legacy. She spent as much time with them as she could and held every baby. She treated her friends as family and strangers soon became friends. Kathy did everything in her power to make those around her happy and comfortable.
She is preceded in death by her parents Phillip & Joyce Glasgow and Martha (Hamilton) Glasgow, brother Paul, and sister-in-law Becky.
She is survived by Greg; her children and her son- and daughters-in-love, Joshua (Jacquelyn) Priebe, Kerry (Christian) Baer, and Jonathan (Kattie) Priebe; 17 grandchildren (+3 spouses), and 2 great-grandchildren with one more on the way; her sisters Iris (Ray) Para, Beth Glasgow, and brother Zeke (Candy) Glasgow, and sister-in-law Lori Glasgow; many special nieces and nephews, countless “silent Priebes”, and too many dear friends to list.
Calling hours are 3-6 pm on Monday, February 21st. A memorial service will follow at 6 pm. Both are to be held at First UMC,
245 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. If desired, donations can be made in Kathy’s name to the American Lung Association.
