Kenneth E. Hill, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died peacefully on March 8, 2024, in Brimfield, Ohio. He was born on June 2, 1931, in Akron, Ohio, to the proud parents Clark Hill and Grace (Rummel) Hill.
Kenneth's journey on earth was filled with love, dedication, and strength. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife Margaret Hill. Kenneth's enduring love story with Margaret began on July 4, 1955 when she playfully hit him with a beach ball at Munroe Falls Lake Park. This chance encounter blossomed into a beautiful 56-year marriage that stood the test of time until Margaret's death.
After graduating from East High School in Akron, Kenneth honorably served four years in the Navy, stationed in San Diego, Japan, and deployed to the Korean War. Following his military service, he embarked on a fulfilling career with Ohio Bell as a cable technician, providing for his growing family with dedication and hard work.
Kenneth's greatest joys in life were his children: Brian Hill (Diane), Scott Hill (Shelley), and Karen Hill. He is also survived by his grandchildren April, Bridget, Kyle, Rachel, Colin, Derek and his eight great-grandchildren. His family was the center of his universe, and he cherished every moment spent with them, especially during their travels on family vacations.
A man of many talents, Kenneth was known for his self-reliance and mechanical skills. He built his own home where he lived until his final day, displaying his craftsmanship and dedication to his family. Additionally, he enjoyed fixing up cars, building a wooden canoe, and engaging in a lifelong pursuit of knowledge, particularly in anthropology, cosmology, and scientific discoveries.
Kenneth's passion for fitness was evident throughout his life, whether he was lifting weights, running, swimming, or simply chatting at the recreation center. His commitment to leading a healthy lifestyle inspired all those around him.
A private funeral service will be held to honor Kenneth's memory. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Summa Health and Hospice for their unwavering support and care during Kenneth's final days.
