Kenneth “Kenny” Smolinski, age 70 of Seven Hills, passed away on April 27, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Jane (nee Chmielewsk) Smolinski, his wife Louise Smolinski (nee Coleman), and brother Walter “Wally” Smolinski. He is survived by his daughter Sarah (Rob) Guzman, his sister Bernadette (Bill) Motiska, and brother Dennis (Julie) Smolinski. He is also survived by his grandson, nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends.
Kenny grew up in Cleveland, where he played linebacker for John Adams High School. He was a Vietnam Era Veteran of the Army. After the service, he attended college at Kent State University where he received his bachelor’s in Nursing and his RN. He worked at St. Luke’s Hospital, where he met his wife, Louise. They were married for 37 years before her death in 2015. He also owned his own hair transplant clinic called the Cleveland Hair Clinic in the 80’s.
Kenny had a huge heart and loved helping everyone whether family, friend, or stranger. He was always cracking jokes and making new friends. He also loved baseball and doing yard work.
A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, June 3rd at the Independence United Methodist Church 6615 Brecksville Rd, Independence from 2-5 in the afternoon.
Internment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his wife, Louise. Condolences and special memories of Kenny can be shared with his family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com
