Lacey J (Wood) Fowler passed away unexpectedly at the age of 41 on July 3, 2024 at Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Cleveland, OH. She was born on September 1, 1982 in Canton, OH to Kathy Helwig (Mother) and Jeff Wood (Father). She grew up and lived around the Tuscarawas County area her entire life.
Lacey was an avid animal lover. From dogs and cats to lizards, wild mice, ducks, baby skunks, and even a pot bellied big, she loved them all. She had once even befriended a bull. There were always animals to save, and Lacey was going to be the one to save them.
To those who knew her, she was an inspiration. Lacey struggled for years fighting internal battles, and when she had defeated them, she used her strength to support others. She helped a number of people find their sobriety by starting an AA meeting in the local area. Lacey celebrated 5 years of sobriety on June 6, 2024. She was proud that she had made it so far, and even though it wasn’t easy, she did it with grace and patience along with the help of family and friends.
Lacey’s greatest love above all else were her triplet granddaughters; Stevie, Everlee, and Lainey Thomas. She was such a proud grandmother. We are all going to miss her coming in the house yelling, “Cuppycakes, Grandma’s here!”
Lacey married Chris Fowler on August 22, 2020. Chris was Lacey’s perfect match.
Lacey was preceded in death by, paternal grandfather, Wilbur (Earl) Wood, maternal grandfather, Robert Nelson, and her beloved (maternal) grandmother, JoAnne Nelson.
She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory, including her husband, Chris Fowler; daughter, Meghan (Bair) Thomas (Dylan), son, Logan Bair; sisters, Kagni (Wood) Bonakoski (Bill), Megan Murphy, five nephews, grandchildren; Stevie, Everlee, and Lainey Thomas, parents; Kathy (Nelson) Helwig (Don Murphy) and Jeffrey Wood, and many other extended family members and friends.
Lacey was surrounded by so much love during her last journey, and was accompanied by her closest friends and family until the end. Family and friends are welcome to join together for a celebration of life ceremony with food and beverages to follow. Services will be held at Faith Baptist church of Bolivar (9481 OH-212, Bolivar, OH 44612) on July 30th, 2024 at 4 pm. A private burial service will follow with only immediate family.
