LaRue Trumpeter

LaRue (Culberson) Trumpeter, 95, North Canton, died on January 27,2024, following a long life and a short illness. She was born in Alliance, Ohio, on March 25, 1928, the second of three daughters born to Elmer and Mabel Culberson. She was a 1946 Alliance High School graduate. She married her high school sweetheart, William L. Trumpeter, on New Years Eve 1948. Bill and LaRue raised their two sons, Bill and Ed, in North Canton. She and Bill were proprietors of Trump's Hall of Foam Tavern on West Tusc for many years. She retired from the Hoover Company. Following retirement, she and Bill traveled throughout the country in their RV and spent numerous winters in Ft. Myers, Florida. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 66 years and her sisters Claire Lee Hahlen and Shirley Stryffeler. She is survived by her sons, Bill (Debbie) and Ed, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Per her request, there will be no calling hours or service. Following cremation her cremains will join those of her husband at Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
